New Orleans, LA - Join us as we celebrate the lives and music of Joe Cocker and Leon Russell with a performance of their epic 1970 live album, Mad Dogs and Englishmen, in its entirety. This show will celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Fillmore East concert from which MD&E was created. As a special tribute to the musical legacy of Leon Russell, the TWENTY-piece+ all star band will also be performing selections from Mr. Russell’s solo catalogue. Featuring John Paul Carmody, Mark Paradis, Antoine Diel, Marc Stone, Danny Abel, Arsene DeLay, Margie Perez, Dana Abbott, Amy Trail, Hannah Kreiger Benson, Carolyn Broussard, Jamey St. Pierre, Lucas Davenport, Tom Worrell, Will Thompson, Scott Jackson, Alex Mallett, Colin Davis, Chris Guccione and more TBA!
We’re also very happy to announce that we’ll be partnering with the New Orleans Musicians Clinic this year! Founded in 1998 by a coalition of music advocates, the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (NOMC) became the 1st comprehensive clinic for musicians, performing artist and cultural workers in the USA and currently provides culturally-sensitive primary medical care to more than 2,500 patients. The New Orleans Musicians’ Assistance Foundation (NOMAF) supports and operate the NOMC and additionally serves as a health advocacy organization for the larger music community to promote wellness and health literacy.
