Duz Mancini & the Wasted Shades
Saturday February 1, 2020 10:00 pm (Doors: 9:00 pm )
Best known as co-founder and frontman of alt-country outfit Coyotes, Los Angeles born Duz Mancini's latest solo project, Duz Mancini & The Wasted Shades, highlights Mancini's unique brand of warm and reflective indie rock.  Mancini's free and easy guitar work and self-reflective songwriting showcase this natural-born guitarists's distinct "Cosmic Americana" sound.
No newcomer to the New Orleans scene, Mancini established Coyotes in 2009 and went on to head several other well received projects, including Juno Dunes and Scorpedos. With healthy interest from the local scene and a growing fan base, dates at Jazz Fest, SXSW, ACL, Voodoo Fest, and Buku materialized, as did multiple tours throughout the U.S.; including support spots for Sturgill Simpson, Dawes, Delta Spirit, Violent Femmes, Hurray For the Riff Raff, The Revivalists, Lost Bayou Ramblers, The Whigs, Gary Clark Jr, Houndmouth, and Trombone Shorty.

After 6 years of extensive touring across the US, Mancini retreated to Nashville to focus on a career in song-writing, begin work on a solo album, and most importantly to pursue sobriety.  Upon returning to New Orleans in late 2017, Mancini teamed up with Johnny Campos and Kirkland Middleton (both of the Lost Bayou Ramblers), David Hart (Sweet Crude, Motel Radio) and Grant D'Aubin to form Duz Mancini & The Wasted Shades. Ex-Coyotes manager Ron Richard has been assisting the group getting off the ground since Mancini's return with support slots at One Eyed Jacks, as well as regional plays.

Influenced by modern legends such as Neil Young, Wilco and Harry Nilsson, Mancini's latest work with the Wasted Shades, slated to be released Winter '19, showcases Mancini's well-honed style and natural craftsmanship; and solidifies his spot as a mainstay in the New Orleans music community.
